Yes powdered glass is glued onto the strings...........but the real killer is the metal strings that people use and results in electrocution and throat slits. I have attended a lot of Basant Festivals and to be honest it is a lot of fun especially basant nights is some crack and lot of people depend on the revenues generated from this but nothing is worth the loss of life that we all have witnessed. I guess if the Government persists with having this festival then stringent laws must must be enforced without distinction. There should be places dedicated to kite flying so we dont see people running around on streets.

Strict laws need of the hour......but do we have laws working in other spheres? None...Laws in Pakistan work only against the poor.

What happens to all the killers, rapists and corrupt ministers and politicians... We all know well..
