It’s my personal opinion my dear. She was fine in her glory days. In the past decade or so, her voice has gone down and even her sister doesn’t sound that great anymore. Old age seems to have that affect on people. The same can be said for Noor Jehan, she was fine in her glory days, but the older she got, the less ‘wonderful’ her voice sounded. Suitable for songs back in the day, but now, no thanks.

This is just where you are wrong. Do not compare Lata at the age of 75 with someone at age of 25. Greatness of a singer has to be considered his/her entire career not just the last song you heard. Can any of the current favorites sing as well as Lata when they are 75? Heck, most of them can’t even sing as well as Lata tight now. I have never said Lata today is as good as others. But for many decades nobody even came close to her. Taht for me is the proof of hear greatness. Your criteria of greatness seem to be limited to this year or maybe month?

If you are going to make long term comparisons, then I prefer Noor Jehan over Lata anyday. Even Lata greatly admired Noor Jehan and paid tribute to her many times in her interviews as one of the female singers she most looked up to. Again, this is just my personal opinion ... apologies if my personal opinion offends you and Lata jee. Don't take it personally, we are allowed to disagree. :D

Had Noor jehan said that, u would have jumped out of ur pants… Noor Jehan is 10 times better than Lata… Tell me, does Kajol really look real with Latas (old) voice… Sounds artificial…

Your Lata doesnt even come close to Noor Jehans awesome patriotic war songs, which she had to finalize in a matter of minutes!!!

kay wohi sab say acha hai cuz haar aik singer k haar ganay tu hum suntay nahin

sirf wohi jo mashoor hoon ya jo dil ko bha jaye Sad or happy songs

Rafi is gr8 so is Mukesh and Kishore and so is Sonu nigam, Jagjit, abhijeet,
Nusrat fateh ali khan , Udit narayaan , Kumar sanu, Junaid jamshid, Sajad ali
Etc cuz each and every one have a different voice aur saray ganay tu sabhi k mashoor nahin hotay kuch bahut zabardast hotay hain tu kuch ko hum Forward kardetay hain ....................so its hard 2 stuck on one or 2 singers

sara waqt aik singers k ganay aik saal tak tu sunay say rahay........:)
