THE PROPHET S.A.W said the jews split into 71 sects the christians split into 72 sects and my ummah will split into 73 sects,only one will go to jannah.who is on the haq{the truth}
Each sect or group will say that they are on the haq and everyone else has gone off the track, or else they wouldnt belong to that particuler sect would they?
If you want to know who is on the haq, then you need to do your own research and find out which veiw is logical or makes more sense to you as the most correct one.
You can't ask a general question like that, unless your just stirring.

that hadith is more fabricated than real
I doubt God discrimates.
He wants all of us at home.
well kd1 this is just like the US media..
They present two sides of the story fully knowing that both of them are misleading. Either way people will never question the source but argue till the cows come home about the two opinions.
Thus they keep the public in line.. and thus has the Muslim Ummah been kept in line.. away from Qur'an which in no uncertain terms states that there is no sectarianism in Islam.

Sects refers to people going out of islam entirely not groups with islam. Check arabic it will show teh meaning of sect here is a group which denies any of the fundementals of islam....like believing in another prophet after muhammed(saw)...eg Nation of islam, Qadhiyans etc
Dont confuse sects with groups
wa'salaam

So clubber lang, according to this definition are there only two sects or are there more?
If some group denies any of the fundamentals of islam, will they still be considered "sect" of Islam?
The hadith that I have read is:
Anas (ra) reports that the Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said : ".... And my Ummah will divide into 73 sects, all of them in the fire, except for one." So it was said: " O Messenger of Allah, who are they?" so he said: "They are those who are upon what I am upon today and my companions." (Ibn Maajah)
PA, it does not say 73 sects of islaam, but that 73 sects will split out of the ummah. And yes there is no sectarianism in islam.
