Who is going down this time?

1977-78: Mohinder Amarnath(for many the best inidan player of fast bowling ever) hit by a bouncer by Imran khan and stayed out from cricket for two years.

1987 series: Wasim Broke Shrikanth’s elbow or nose or somethinn

1989: Sachin tendulkar got a Nose frecture from Waqar Younis and was Hospitalize for few hours.

1999: Saurav Gangually almost got a broken rib by Shoaib akhter(effects of that blow can still be seen now in his batting against Fast bowlers.:D)

Who do u think is going down this time, are pakistani bowlers going to keep on to this cool (i think so) tradition.

I believe it was Surinder (Mohinder's brother) who got hit during the 78-79 series.

Nahin Bachey, it was mohinder, trust me i know.:)

They all sound same ......:p

How about Laxman or Dravid this time. Will even out the batting contest. :)

I sincerely hope that they don't promote Parthiv Patel up the order if Shoaib is on a rampage.

By looking at the trend.....Imran, Wasim, Waqar and Shoieb. Its now Sami's turn to show his furious missiles.

My guess is Laxman this time. Its always India's best of THE time.

That one was supposed to be brutal. A teacher of mine who's a big cricket fan used to tell us that Srikant was never the same (at least when facing Wasim) after this blow.

Re: Re: Who is going down this time?

:rotfl: Sounds like a case of severe mental trauma. :hehe:

Hospitalized for a few hours - my foot ! I think Tendu (16 years old at the time) walloped Waqar for a few FOURS after he was hit...

While you Pakis are singing the glory of your "FAST" bowlers... do also mention about Jadeja blasting Waqar(WC, India), Tendulkar taking apart Waqar (WC, Australia) and Tendu-Sehwag combo undoing Akhtar (WC, South Africa). Well, I have the same question - Who is going down this time ?

Re: Re: Who is going down this time?

I thought this was a thread about "going down" and not "blasting". You can start one thread about "who is blasting who this tim" if you like :)

U need to go through my posts to see how many times i said that Bangalore game was one of the biggest cricketing memory that i have, And also u need to check number of times Pakistani guppies have admired Schin's WC innings, and comapre it with how many times Indian guppies have even talked about lets just say Afridi's(I dont even wanna use the expample of greats like Javed, Zaheer, Anwar to prove something) Innings in Chenni.

Yeah Sambi!Srinath really become Akram's bunny after that series. Which was for batsman of his limitations was not unexpected.

Mr. Cricket Historian…you were probably wetting your pants when I started following cricket…

Read this from the following link , before exaggerating stuff. And please dont give me the “Biased Indian media” crap. Its not my fault that Pak does not have one single decent cricket web site :

http://www.keralaonline.com/dailydose/wstuff/display.asp?cap=sach.htm

In 1989, a 16 year old child made his international debut against pakistan which had the fiery pacemen Wasim akram & Waqar Younis. During that match,he got struck in the helmet by a dangerous bouncer by Waqar younis. He fell down and blood started coming out of his nose. When the team physician came to the ground, the nonstriker Navjot Singh Sidhu indicated that he should be taken off the ground. Suddenly,a low but determined voice came from below: “No,I will play”.He hit the very next ball straight down the wicket for a four and hasn’t looked back ever since. That little child has grown up and his name is Sachin Tendulkar.

So much for the FEW HOURS HOSPITALIZATION !

oh yeah.... i remember each and evey match of that series... wasim got his man srikant almost every time... and it was just matter of few balls for wasim...srikant became so natorious for that....he was so scared of akram but dont take me wrong....srikant was a good player of fast bowling... he hit imran for 2 straight sixes back in 82-83 series when imran was at his peak...( but he was bold on third ball by imran)...

but after wasim broke srikant haddi pasliee, he was all finished....trust me it was so much fun seeing him playing against akram... he used to be shaking and offering some bhajjans when akram used to go back to his bowling mark...i can imagine him saying

"ram karay, wasim ka dehant ho jaye... ohh bhagwan, oopar walle, baraphay may meriee sun lay.....marr jaye salla kutta wasim... ayee bhagwan ... mugh pay karpa kar.... bacha mughay iss wasim kay bachhay say.... salay nay meeriee haddi pasliee aik kar dee ha"

but none of his prayers ever worked... within 6 balls my srikant used to be back....

i guess this time we should spare laksman... he is so stylish to be treated like this....he plays with such an elegance...i luv his batting... reminds me of my all time favorite zaheer abbas and azhar ud din....plus becharray just got married 2 weeks ago....i am sure his hadiee pasliee will already be in trouble after celebrating his honeymoon...how about if shoaib and co can fix shewag's motiee nakk this time....he seems arrogant too....

oyeee nikame, yeh tu nay kiss kamm may dall diya ha hum sub ko.... tera berra ghargh ho.... but i do appreciate your memory....u remember all "nasty details"of pak-india mtaches....

Srikanth was a useless batsman...had more flair than real substance or technique... Sehwag , with all his faults, is a much better version of Srikanth.
And I am glad Akram hastened Srikanth's retirement.

Now if only someone can tape Srikanth's mouth when he is in the commentary box.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Who is going down this time?

HE DID GO TO HOSPITAL EITHER DURING THE INNINGS OR AFTER IT. i can not find this stuff on linecoz apparently this MINOR information is either MISSING or not cosidered important to be still mentioned, by group of people(I call them Java Monkies, this Karala site is one such exmple) who have common task of hiding such information for some reason.

^Now you can babble as much as you want. I proved my point and you know it.

Where did u prove ur point, and what point are u talking about?

And also u didnt even bother replying to this part

""u need to check number of times Pakistani guppies have admired Schin's WC innings, and comapre it with how many times Indian guppies have even talked about lets just say Afridi's(I dont even wanna use the expample of greats like Javed, Zaheer, Anwar to prove something) Innings in Chenni.'''

May be because u couldnt find any help from ur historians here.. :D

I thought Akram fractured Srikanths jaw, but I might be wrong. Anyway whatever got broken or whoever got blasted the fact remains we have a gelorius past when it comes to playing agianst India.
