this was in Kansas 1988-90 for white tail hunting in the flint hills area, about 120 mins west of kansas city. we were deep into woods, but did not have dogs or anything so just did stand hunting and did not need to stay overnight. the weapons were 22 rifles and assorted shotguns. Since it was the first time I had gone hunting I was made incharge of a magnum handgun which my hunting buddies kept for emergencies. we made a few pheasant and turkey trips as well.
last time I went, as a deer was shot and we were walking up and deer was thrashing about in pain so I decided to shoot it with the .44 while we were still not very close, as I shot missed the torso and blew its front leg off.
lets just say it was not a pretty sight, and that was the last time I went hunting.

Its just I know people who ad similar life style. 2 of my friends married to girls from east coast.

hmmmm I know what you mean. I quit that too. My father didn't like me shooting innocent animals.
Even with out that part I loved it. Being out in the open for days.
