Never been myself. However, I have heard from those who have been there that its really nice and the people are really friendly.

I went for 10 days a few years back. It is indeed very beautiful and serene. I especially loved Galway, what a lovely city. And you can really just about walk from the city into pure countryside. The open market that they have on weekends is stunning with all the fresh veggies and flowers. Its very green and lush no matter where you go, and you'll find friendly people too.
