does a thinking mind has a soul? or a living soul becomes a legendary alive thinking mind to stay and affect the world positively, even when its possessor body is gone from the living world?
to me, it is all in its sensitivity and its transparent zeal to unearth the truth.

To me a 'thinking mind' as we are in this world is like a person who has lived and learned but then goes through a process where his memory is hidden from the apparent consciousness and some clues are left around for us to find our memories from within. The process is kin to being born in this world. We are given a clean slate and our hard drives have been given new operating systems and all the older files have been archived ... When we stumble across these archives we find ways to uncompress them and then we 'remember' in small bite sized chunks what our old operating systems used to contain.
Thought has a few levels too ...
Reflexes
Subconscious
Conscious
Introspective
A combination of these are the workings of a thinking mind. The last two levels are what distinguish us from animals who also think but on the basic levels only.

the statement that we are different than animals is rightly justified by these very attributes of thinking beyond sensation & perception which becomes one of the constant feeds for the thinkng mind.
