^ Same here. 2 KB/s down, 0.5 KB/s up. Just finished downloading the 4 Gig DVD rip of Sholay. I also run a web server on the same speed. I have about 500 Gigs of movies and appz. Anyone interested send me a PM. And please, only 400 connections at a time.

^^ A 4 Gig file at 2 KB/s? At this rate you would need 2 million seconds, ie more than 23 days!

You UK walay need to do some catching up. We will have DSL2 here very soon, the speeds for that start at 10Mbit. And you can have Telephone, Internet and Cable TV all through one and the same line.. and you get to make local calls within the country for free…

true that ! damn the monopoly of BT (british telecoms) in the early days …we are still paying for it.

Theoretically, shouldn’t Bahrain have the world’s fastest internet connections for minimal price? It’s only a small island and I doubt even 50% of that is inhabited.

practically, the market is not big enuff to allow for such low rates…
and not many r willing to pay the extra price for extra speed…

bahrain’s population is well under a million…
