I think only the tourist groups can assist you about this. They give you the information on hotels available along with the booking assistance.

I was there a few years ago...I was only in Cairo, so that's all I can talk about...

Climate - Don't even think about going during the summer...from what I've heard, it's hellishly hot and dusty. I was there in December, and the weather was actually very pleasant...mostly in the 60's.

Accommodations - Totally depends on your budget. I was with my parents, so I got to stay at a fairly pricey hotel (Four Seasons at Nile Plaza), which was pretty nice...I remember I we had a stunning view of the Nile with the pyramids in the distance from our windows...

Places to visit - There's so much, you probably won't be able to fit it all in. There's the obvious...the pyramids at Giza and the Sphinx, which will take up at least a day. Salahuddin Ayyubi's fort, several different historic mosques & churches, the National Museum...also, be sure to take a cruise down the Nile...I remember that was pretty fun...I don't know if it's your thing, but Cairo has an surprisingly amazing opera house...I was really impressed with the performance we saw...

Food - You have to go to one of the coffee houses that are all over the city. I don't remember the names of any of the specific restaurants we went to...I do remember that the Arab restaurant at our hotel was excellent...

Culture - Its more conservative than Dubai...less conservative than what I imagine Saudi Arabia must be like. Just act as you would in Pakistan and you should be fine.

Just to add, culture, depends upon where you want to go. All types exist.

only once. that was back in the 80s and we were in jordan then. went with family. drove all the way to egypt and stayed for a week. don't remember much about the place.

Ooooh - i love Egypt - We went to Luxor and Cairo and it was amazing. Going to Sharm el Sheikh and crossing to Petra for a day...

How long you going for Coolmunda? Where are you staying? Tell me more and i will try to help!
