So my younger brother getting married in May. I need to know who hands out the invitations?
Re: who hands out the wedding invites?
Are you for real? :-\
Re: who hands out the wedding invites?
Generally parents but if they’re getting on in age then siblings of both genders are acceptable.
Re: who hands out the wedding invites?
Desis esp of the older generation have a protocol about this. Some families being stricter than usual. The rules are the more important you are (e.g. already married daughter’s in laws etc. the first you will be to get the invites and the parents will go to give it, provided that they live in the same city of course). The lowest on the ladder get it by mail. I have seen people not going to wedding just because the parents did not come themselves but sent a teenage or adult child instead with the invitation.
My family does not follow the protocol of rankings within the family, but we do call close relatives and near and dear ones to let them know when the match has been arranged.
Re: who hands out the wedding invites?
Yes i am 4 real.thanks eastern11 It really helped.I was thinking i should go since mom aunts uncles r busy with the preps but with ur advice yeah every1 will seriously mind y a younger person is delivering instead of an elder. Thanks:)
When i got married my mum khalaa and sisters went.
My taya abu (my dad passed away) he dealt with alot of his side family invites along with my mum & khala- also married to my taya lol so they as the elders did their bit
My friends and sisters friends all us siblings went together to hand out those invites. Those abroad we mailed the invites out as well as verbally telling them dates n timings etc.
