Just wondering who might have suggested the dope tests before ICC trophy? If that person is someone associated with the team, then this could be a conspiracy against Pakistan. Since if he is associated with PAK team by any mean, then he might have known about any ill doing of these players, and instead he could have stoped them from taking such supplements. No one could claim ignorance since PAK team officials includes doctors, trainers etc and other professional staff on their disposal. these experts should have known of it. Should have watched players diet. Should have investigated if they suspected any foriegn material or supplement. Beside players himself, who should be the most worried person about players well being among team officials? captain? coach? or some one else?
That knowledgable person(s), instead of advising these players and stoping them from taking such supplements, rather hatched a conspiracy, that first vanished Pakistan chances in ICC trophy, and now this sword of doping is hanging on PAK and thus diminished PAK chances for WC.
Personally, I beleive if that person was either stoping or warning Akhtar and Asif in a timely manner and stoping them from taking those substances, then in the presence of Akhtar and Asif, Pakistan had good chances of winning ICC under the leadership of Younis.
Such results in ICC trophy could have jeopardize Inzi dreams of leading Pakistan in WC, rather there were chances a new chairman at the helm would have persisted with Younis and let Inzi play as a player.
So it seems like a bigger conspiracy hatched and executed. Which tarnished Akhtar career, psychologically destroyed an emerging talented bowler in Asif, and cleared the way for SA to claim WC for the first time by breaking the backbone of Pakistan.
So guess who could be this smart, calculated person, who executed a crime without leaving any finger prints.
Re: Who first suggested Dope testing for Pak players?
Let me add to the further to the theory
"Maybe this person added something to the drinks and food of the two bowlers :-) when in actuality the players are innocent"
Let us please stop acting like victims and take accountabilty of our actions
I don't care who blew the whistle but I do think they did us a favor
Re: Who first suggested Dope testing for Pak players?
I totally agree there is no place for dope in the gentlemen game, but when you have players like Razzaq who will get advise from experts (:)) and will keep eating spinach, in such cases you should utilize your doctors, trainers, cooks etc expertise and coach should be advicing players regarding their DIET and TRAINING regimes.
For me it is mind bogling that no one intervene when these players were taking those supplements. It would have been much better for the team as well as for concern players if Coach/PCB was stoping them from these supplements. If any one suspected that these supplements are not good, then they could have analyzed supplements for these players. Instead, PAK officials let them eat whatever they wanted to eat, and just before ICC trophy (when Pakistan had the brightest chances of lifting it with full strength team, even without Inzi) these officials decided to test these players and destroy their career. Now PAK is in mess, whole world might be laughing, time is clicking away and they are still uncertain if those two players will be available or not.
