I do sometimes on Friday top it off with a smaller jacket. In the summer, I feel like I can get away with open toe shoes and dresses.

I wear summer attire and definitely dress down on Fridays - I wear open toed-shoes throughout the summer!
But I can’t for the life of me remember seeing maxi dresses being worn. I’m going to keep my eyes open this season - I have a slew of them in my closet and wanted to buy more but couldn’t justify it for strictly weekend wear.

Colours really compliment our desi skin tone! next time just try the one you wouldn't usually go for and then you never know....I remember few summers ago taupes/browns/blacks were really in for maxi's, they do look and elegant for dinner parties but I feel day time we can get away with a little summery colour :)

How many of the working ladies would wear maxis to work? I love them for weekends, but I can't picture myself and come to think of it, any of my colleagues wearing maxi dresses to work.

I forgot, along with the sweater/jacket on top, there’s the fact that most dresses are SO LOW CUT that you’d need a tank top. so 3 layers. :hinna:

Blehh. It looks like a cape to me. I don't think this style will be coming back once it's gone. I especially hate the shirts made to mimic this style.

But instead of making in 3 layers you could always make a maxi look modest by wearing a sleeved top underneath. OR otherwise just a thin summer cardigan on top if the neck is okay

Sara I love maxis and wear them a lot in summer. You can wear a light bolero or cardigan on top and just wear a light scarf that compliments the maxi, if the maxi is low cut. Or you can try:Cami Secrets Order Here! these things are life savers in summer when layering is not an option.

First one i got was from old navy..
second i happened to see in the mall in this store called love culture...
ordering is great too... i find the best deals that way specially shoes from 6pm.com
I got my first long summer dress from Marshalls - the print on it was just perfect.. not too loud that is what i look for ...
