Who do you think has it easier

with regards to losing weight

someone who has always been slim/at a healthy weight but suddenly gained weight (due to childbirth/letting themselves go)

or

someone who has always been heavy all their life (including in childhood and into adulthood)?

Emotionally, physically, mentally etc?

Re: Who do you think has it easier

I think the former.

Re: Who do you think has it easier

Someone who has been heavy all along, I'd say, would have a more difficult time. It has a lot to do with how you already see yourself and what you think is acceptable for yourself. Someone who has battled weight issues all their life identify (even if negatively so) with their weight, which can keep the struggle going.

Re: Who do you think has it easier

easier for....

Re: Who do you think has it easier

i think the latter, mentally and emotionally they most likely will not have a good opinion of how they look, may have low self esteem and low confidence, and i think would be likely to have less motivation to get the weight off whereas for someone who is used to be slim, i imagine they would find it easier to motivate themselves into losing the weight and would find it easier being self discplined simply because if they are used to being slim, they would be more determined to get back to their normal weight. Thats what i reckon anyway.

Re: Who do you think has it easier

someone who is well-disciplened and can lose and maintain weight despite gaining in any given time span.

Re: Who do you think has it easier

It's certainly easier for those who have always been slim/at a healthy weight but suddenly gained weight.

Re: Who do you think has it easier

battle against the weight increase is something which we all have to loose one day so why get worried :-)

Re: Who do you think has it easier

i don't know but i know i feel like crap most of the time. i put on weight after childbirth.
