However one’s mother is alive. The other’s has passed away.

Who do you pick to marry ladies?

I already have a MIL. Why would I want another one?

Now answer this: If you were single and a potential wife-to-be would marry you if her parents could live with you guys. At the same time, you had another potential rishta who had no issues living with your parents and doesn't care enough about her own to leave them behind. Who would you picK?

My mother in law is actually a very good person...maybe in the past I might have thought about the dead one's scenario but not anymore.

Interesting thread :stuck_out_tongue: I think ill choose the one with the mother who is alive.

2 reasons.

  1. I would love to see how my husband interacts with his mother… Is he loving? good? filial? They say you have to see how a man treats his mother to know how he wil behave with you in the future.

^I don't think that saying about how he treats his mother is so true in reality..

I think in desi culture a lot of people make a clear distinction between how they should treat their mothers and their wives..

dead one would come as a ghost and be all haunting and stuff.
it easier to kill enemy if you can see them. or as a great man once said, 'if it bleeds we can kill it'.
ghosts no bleed. so i pick living one.

I'd pick the guy who is closer to Allah regardless of whether his mom is alive or deceased.
