Various people arranged into different lists on my tweetdeck: friends and family ; work colleagues ; visionaries etc. . This allows me to prioritize what tweets I'm going to read when.
Twitter's been such a useful tool for real-time searches to stay up-to-date with what's going on in my line of work.

mainly news channels, news agencies plus people linked with media, but a few from showbiz also.

i use it mostly in days when i am not getting time to watch or read news. Indeed good tool to stay updated about the happenings in the world. short, brief and good info if you are following the right people.

There's much more to Twitter than status updates... you figure this out eventually once you start using it for productivity in addition to socializing.
