Firstly Gandhi's nomination did not come from indian. It came from Chaan Mahi (now US citizen) and then Nova (Pakistani). Queer/me did not talk of Gandhi.
Well.. the discussion indeed went into an uncivilized criticism of Gandhi e.g "male whore". That is why Queer objected. I just pointed that such abuses do not lower the stature of Gandhi, but just the abuser.

Ghandhi slept with his nieces in an absurd attempt to practise self-control. Needless to say, he failed and had his lecherous way with them.
Also, he was not the Hero to everyone in India. Dr Ambedkar, leader of the so-called untouchables, or Dalit of today, repeated again and again; "Ghandhi is the greatest enemy the Untouchables (60 million of them) have ever had in India" due to Ghandhi's views on caste system.
Anyway, i didn't come on this thread to slag Ghandhi, he had his good points, my target was Indhira, and I'm still waiting for someone to come out in support of HER.

If there was a debate between Ambedkar and Gandhi, is it necessary for us to dub one as angel and other as evil. There was dispute between Gandhi and Subhash Bose, Gandhi and Nehru, Gandhi and Patel and so on.
gandhi and Bose dispute was particularly severe still Bose saluted Gabdhi first when Azad Hind fouz's radio station started.
If you hold Ambedkar's statemsnts on Gandhi when debate was on to be so perfect, please read Ambedkar's opinions on Islam. I wonder how you would like it.
