Who came up with the pre packaged masala like Shan and Ahmed sell?

Whoever did that must have been really smart. One person can only buy so much lal mirchi, and dhunoya powder. But if you sell it in smaller quantities, you can sell more for it and charge many times more.

I think it is incredible how these companies sell their products all over the world. Here in Houston, I see their products in every grocery store that has an international section.

Yep , smart really smart. But good way to make life easy for those who do not know what and how much of each individual ingredient to use for thousands different kind of dishes.

Chef Pride was the first one to come up with this idea.
They introduced Achar Gosht as their selling brand for the first time, rather invented it.

anything to make women life easier is going to be a hit. plus they are really good off the shelf formulas for new cooks. National, Shan and Ahmed are good ones. at least in this area Indians are still far behind.

This is the first time Indians have been accused of being behind in something related to food. All my student life I kept hearing from my teach and others that we Indians are only good for eating

lol

But there should be limit to it. For instance, National's Quick Haleem Mix is so blah. They grounded all the lentils and daal and everthing .. so when yoo cook it .. it does not give that creamy texture ..

I'm waiting for someone to come up with Punjabi KaRhi mix...where all you have to add is dahi, karri patta, pyaz, garlic, ginger...the besan and spices come in the mix.

These things are good for overseas people or for the pohar khawteen here in Pakistan, but good housewives never use them. They are simply too costly for them.

Like Shan masala put peanuts in its Biryani Masala - thats strange!

There are gains for all our losses.

There are gains for all our losses. There are balms for all our pain: But when youth, the dream, departs It takes something from our hearts, And it never comes again. We are stronger, and are better, Under manhood's sterner reign: Still we feel that something sweet Followed youth, with flying feet, And will never come again. Something beautiful is vanished, And we sigh for it in vain; We behold it everywhere, On the earth, and in the air, But it never comes again!

I think "Naseem" was the first one to sell prepackaged spice mix in Pakistan, National then caught up and started exporting it as well and after that Shan beat them all.
