Is it a parent or a sibling, if so which one. I am closest to my eldest brother. I can pretty much talk to him about anything. My other brother if fun to hang out with and chill but not really talk to for advice…he never takes me seriously.
Of course after marriage its different, but I still maintain my friendship with eldest bro and can still talk to him and come to him for any advice.

its kind of tough to answer this question because i am close to both my older sisters and my mom. It depends on what i have to talk to them about.

Both siblings,i can go to either of them depending on the nature of the problem/issue.

in diff relations, i try honestly to give space to every one and to be nice on my part.
