Re: Wahabis now start bombing Sunnis: Iraq Sunni party attacked
Wahhabi: a member of a strictly orthodox Sunni Muslim sect from Saudi Arabia; strives to purify Islamic beliefs and rejects any innovation occurring after the 3rd century of Islam; “Osama bin Laden is said to be a Wahhabi Muslim”
**Wahhabism **(sometimes spelled Wahabbism or Wahabism) is a movement of Islam named after Muhammad ibn Abd al Wahhab (1703–1792). It has become an object of increased interest because it is the major sect of the government and society of Saudi Arabia. Wahhabism is an offending synonym for one form of Salafism.
**Salafism: **a militant group of extremist Sunnis who believe themselves the only correct interpreters of the Koran and consider moderate Muslims to be infidels; seek to convert all Muslims and to insure that its own fundamentalist version of Islam will dominate the world
**Salafism: **A Salafi (Arabic سلفي referring to early muslim), from the Arabic word Salaf سلف (literally meaning predecessors or early generations), is a practitioner of Salafiyyah (Salafism). Modern usage from the Islamic phrase minhaj as-Salaf منهاج السلف, or method of the early Muslims’'. The term is also used for the Wahhabi branch of Islam.

Re: Wahabis now start bombing Sunnis: Iraq Sunni party attacked
^^ Followers of Ben-la-Deen are the followers of puritanical and violent form of Saudi Islam. They destroyed their own culture in Jannat-ul-Baqeeh and then they bombed Bamiyan's / Afghan's heritage. They are the ones who are involved in killing Pakistani-Shias, and Pakistani-Ahmadis. Their books and their sermons are filled with hate and violence. If you still want to ignore all that well you may. We do have a saying about the ostrich (Shutar-chick) burying his head in the sand (no pun intended).

Interesting Article: I am sure somone, with knowledge about these things can explain further about the Wahabi thinking?

Radical Islamists have perverted the traditions of Islam
the rise and the development of Wahhabism as follows: “The premise of this new, narrow ideology was to reject traditional scholars, scholarship and practices under the guise of ‘reviving the true tenets of Islam’ and protecting the concept of monotheism.”
**Ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab encouraged a new interpretation of Islamic law and permitted his own acolytes to apply it in light of their own understanding, regardless of their level of expertise in juridical matters. **
**Whoever did not agree with this revolutionary approach he considered outside the fold of Islam – an apostate, disbeliever, or idolater – and thus someone whose blood could be shed, whose women could be raped, and whose wealth could be confiscated. **
The dismantling of the Ottoman Empire after World War I gave Wahhabis an opportunity to impose their beliefs and their rule on Muslims of the Arabian Peninsula, which they did not lose. The Wahhabis first conquered the holy cities of Mecca and Medina, transforming these two sanctuaries from centres for the transmission of the Sunni heritage into places for propagating a primitive and literalist cult to Muslims coming from every part of the world. Second, the Wahhabis set up the Saudi state.
expansionist Wahhabism, like other forms of totalitarian ideology, seeks not just to take possession of the whole Muslim world by replacing Sunni Islam with the so-called Salafi school but even to expand its influence beyond it.
Re: Who are Wahabis?
The term 'Wahabi' is nothing more than a derogatory term used against the orthodox Sunni Muslims. I reckon this topic has been beaten to death already and there's absolutely no benefit in further indulging in this argument.
