yes...but i dont think many people could have changed their castes. Some exceptions would be there, but the lowest castes are living in the same conditions for the past thousands of years.

I dont think there's much difference between Butts and Sheikhs. Some people have changed their castes during partition, but its easy for individuals (who came to Pakistan alone leaving most of their family back in India). its very difficult to change castes of whole tribes.
