has anyone read the book? i started it last year.. but couldnt get into it. Recently started reading it and read about a fifth of it… its really quite interesting… i love the writing style of the author
White Teeth
Is it as good as the reviews make it out to be, Sadzzz?
i bought the book two months ago and since then it's been sitting under one of the seats in my car... i haven't even taken it out from the car yet. smack wala icon Dunno why... just not in the mood to read it. But if you say it's good, i'll give it a try.
i started it last yaer (read a few pages) but i dont think i was in the mood... but i started it again this year and its pretty good.. i think u have to give it a bit of time.. my dad found it a bit slow so quit reading it..
i think the more u read it, the better it gets (mine went to pakistan and back hehe)
i just bought another book on MehnazQ recommendation (brick lane)
Read it years ago when it was first published, although it's hard to make comparisms between White Teeth and Brick Lane as they are very different styles of writing.
I didn't like the film version of White Teeth much either as they changed too much of the storyline to adapt it for screen.
Zadie Smith also wrote Autograph Men last year which is still sitting on my pile of books to be read.
i havent started brick lane yet...
did u like white teeth?
i remember seeing it in the college library, started the first page and lost interest : - /
I read it years ago and loved it. Goes a bit slow towards the end, when Majid or Millat (cant't remember which one) gets into all that cloning ****, but still a good read. The telly version was crap (it always is).
Telly version was crap but if memory serves me right, Millad/Majid was rather erm, not crap.
ok.. ive finally made my way thru the booooooring section
its actually really good now!! ever since someone told me that Om Puri plays "Samad Miah", i cant stop laffing when it talks bout him
my brother read it and loved it.
but he's a sad case :p
I read it. It was ok.
