It might have been eroded in west but it has foudn a new home in middle east.
I have found otu that teher are many clubs in middle east where only whites are allowed in. These are the places where alcohol is served and the atmosphere is western. As majority of locals don’t drink alcohol or hang out with whites, they are unawae of these places. The people who face the discrimination are usually the asians or blacks, despite most of them have american or british citizenship and they want to enjoy booz or line marring thingie on gories but are turned away from the gates.
the point i was trying to make that asians are often accused of not mixing up with western population despite living there for long times, yet the people who have fully adopted western lifestyle including the booz are being discriminated against.
I think you have to take a look at this from "their" point of view....I mean the owners of these establishments, the local law enforcement and the local government. If they have such an establishment in a country where it really would be looked upon as a den of sin, then it would invariably invite attack from those who are violently opposed to such establishments. So by making it open to only those who are "obviously" accepting of these establishments, they keep themselves more trouble-free, more able to turn a profit etc. Is this truly racism? Yes probably...but I think its more protectionism yeah?

So in countries where it is complete OK to pay people differently based on their passport and ethnicity, there are bars and clubs which are selective about the race/ethnicity of their customers? Wow, color me surprised. I could have totally never guessed that!

Frankly i haven't have much knowledge of these establishments, all i have heard is complains about the racist attitude of these establishments from asians who are christians, or blacks who are christians, and want to have a good bear, but they are denied entry. And these people happen to be British and american nationals. I did not know how a christian asian who wants to drink is a threat.
yes I know and I DO agree. I am thinking about how the owners would approach things tho. They do not open a place like that in order to provide a good time for others....they open the place to make a profit yeah? So they want NO trouble. If they start letting in people that COULD (possibly) be a Muslim, offended by the whole thing that wants to do harm to them - it could shut them down yeah? And the only way to guarantee a "safe" operation is to deny entry to ANYone that "looks" like a possible Muslim. This COULD have the opposite effect of what they strive to acheive...meaning that resentment could be so much as to create more conflict/trouble. This happens everywhere there is difference in culture/beleif yeah? So really it comes down to THAT rather than racism I think. Sad but true...not just there, but everywhere really.
Althoguh i find your remark about a "possible" muslim being seen as threat higly offensive but thats besides teh point.
These clubs when giving membership do ask for passport and forms to fill up where a person;s religion and nationality is clearly stated but they refuse them membership, also at entry the ID is checked (again names and nationality is written on ID) yet these christians mostly from India and far east are denied memberships and entry.

Just trying to point out the likely reason for the practice of excluding certain people from these places. I myself was excluded from a new club back in my college days. My group was rather forcefully pushed away from the club entrance, told that we were not welcome. Turns out that its patrons were black people and the owners did not whites in there because of the potential for trouble. It happens everywhere, like i said before. It isnt the right thing to do yeah? but its done anyway.
