Re: White Mughals and Anglo Indians
^ it would be Karachi due to its cosmopolitan nature and its similarities with Mumbai.
Re: White Mughals and Anglo Indians
I am sure they would have left after partition. Pakistan was a country being built for Muslims, no role for non Muslims there as proven later in our history.

They were in Pakistan till 80s. Last week I was hearing Usman Peerzada's interview and he mentioned that Lahore's parks were full of Angelo-Indians when he used to go for evening walk with his grandfather in his childhood. As far Karachi is concerned, he told that night club industry was dominated by these Angelo-Indians as they were the best music players.

In my childhood I have seen white nuns in murree, don't know if we can class them as Anglo Indians or not. Can't see them now, maybe they have passed on. People used to say that they've been living there since partition.

One perception is Anglo-Indian were ditched by both British and locals. They probably helped British in 1857 war, so locals were not easy with them and gora sahib didn't take them to England. Seems some half cooked, as India still has sizable Anglo-Indian population. Probably, the term itself is problematic for the population :D
Re: White Mughals and Anglo Indians
One of the Air force officers who signed the surrender in Dhaka for Pakistan was an Anglo-Pakistani : Air Vice Marshal Patrick Desmond Callaghan.
Re: White Mughals and Anglo Indians
Anglo-Pakistani? Is the term really existed at some point of time?
