only time i’ve heard abt it is actually here on GS , mostly from british guppans… i think registry is just a british/European thing, my dad told me that the nikkahnama is valid in USA, u dont need a separate marriage license. i have no idea

On my civil marriage (registry) I dressed up. I think the Asian Brits tend to make it count as something really important and special following a Muslim marriage (Nikaah) and is also an excuse to dress up lol.
