she is also potentially harming future patients that she will misdiagnose/mistreat due to the training she missed. This is not small potatoes … we are talking about potentially lethal consequences for someone.
OP: physicians are expected to adhere to a very high ethical standard … which includes but is not limited to complete transparency of all actions.
manipulation of the educational system and lying is a clear violation of these ethical standards.
imagine this doc down the line … she’ll eventually make a medical mistake (everyone does) and instead of owning up/rectifying … she might lie or lie by omission …
would that be acceptable behavior? … nope
so yes appropriate punishment in this case … its a message/training for future … you lie/manipulate … you suffer the consequences.
