Whirling Dervishes of Rumi

.. are coming to my town and are performing for people to witness for $45. I wanna go but I am not sure if $45 is worth it.

Has anyone else ever been part of the activities of Mevlevi order? Or have seen them perform? I have been given assurances by the organizers that I won’t be asked to join in.

Re: Whirling Dervishes of Rumi

I saw them perform once near the United Nations building in NYC albeit from a distance. There was music and these dudes twirling around. How they manage to do it without falling down is beyond me! We left after 10 minutes because it got boring but I hadn't paid $45... :D

Re: Whirling Dervishes of Rumi

Not worth 45 bucks. We saw it for 8 bucks when they came to our town. I fell a sleep after 5-10 minutes. How much of twirling can you take?? More power to them for twirling for hours w/out falling down but spare me the boredom.

Re: Whirling Dervishes of Rumi

I went to see them once but I got a free ticket though ;). I don’t think it’s worth spending your $45 for looking at some guys spinning in their white frocks.

Re: Whirling Dervishes of Rumi

AJ have some mercy for the Sufis, their prayer is not worth $45 in your eyes.

Re: Whirling Dervishes of Rumi

that sounds like fun!!

Re: Whirling Dervishes of Rumi

I passed on a chance to see Norah Jones for around the same price. I bet they can't be more fun than her.

Anyway, MiniMe bhaijaan, their prayers are worth a world to them but I am not sure if they are worth $45 of my wealth.

Re: Whirling Dervishes of Rumi

^ They actually have to pay me to see Nora Jones. The only way I could listen to her without getting paid is when I need to fall asleep.
