I thought while i am here, why not share one of my Nazm with you guys.

The Title is “Ishq”

Ek ishq kia hay main isee ishq may dooba

Koee na pukaray keh mukallim hoon kisee say

Koee na sada day keh mera waqtay wasal hay

Main hoon mera mehboob hay aur koee nahee hay

Har patta bhee sakit hay har ek phoole bhee khamosh

Har nakhl jhuka hay meray mehboob kay aagay

Zahir nahee garchay magar aataa hay nazar woh

Har phoole may har shajr may har nakhl o bashar may

Mujh ko ghamay jana kee haqiqat nahee maloom

Mujh ko to khabar kuchh ghamay doraan kee nahee hay

Mujh ko ghamay doraan ghamay jana kee khabar kiyon?

Yeh ishqay haqeeqee hay nahee ishqay majazee

Phir kiyon ghamay jana ghamay doraan kee fikar ho?

Gar uss say muhabat mujhay uss ko bhee hay mujh say

Mehboob mera wo hay to main uss ka hoon mehboob

Ek ishq kia hay may isee ishq may dooba

Koee na sada day yeh mera waqtay wasal hay

Main hoon mera mehboob hay aur koee nahee hay

Its not new, I wrote this Nazm back in 1989.

The poem is so simple yet it takes into account the major fact of our life; ishq-e-haqeeqi. If only every Muslim could build this connection with his Creator, the world would have been a far better place to live in. The world of today and its day to day demands have taken mankind far away from this strongest bond, a man can ever have.

The poem is very well balanced and has flow of thought. Very descriptive and well written indeed. Good job!

I think the mods should move it to Sho'ra-e-gupshup because its your own poetry.
