Just wanted t know which vendors will be doing lawn this year.some of them said last year that they won’t be doing lawn this year especially after sana safinaz exhibition.

@sumosabs : Seriously we need to ban these designer lawns for their crazy prices for a season. Maybe it is ok for people earning out of Pakistan to buy one lawn suit for over 4000rs and then get the patches,laces,stitching with panels,etc to end up total price over 6500-7000rs but this is a stupid price for people here. we end up acknowledging and encouraging them every year to sell them at 500-1000rs difference from previous season’s price. I still remember a worker at saleem fabrics last year looking with envy at women pushing and pulling in a huge crowd at the counters for SS and telling his co-worker ‘hamari aik maheenay ki salary jitna aik suit hai and yeh sub kis tarah 3-4 suits lay rahi hain larai kar kar kay’ 
I felt so embarrassed that I dropped the suit I got for myself and donated the price of it,least I could do after listening to the conversation.

Ohhhh noooooo Proto :( but i can so see where you are coming from)
I feel quite ashamed of giving into the hysteria of all of the overpriced and overhyped lawns last year. The only reason i went for them in the end was because my mum was in pakistan and has an amazing durzee who managed to sew up all of my outfits for a really good price.
What i really objected to was some vendors charging between 7000-8000 Rs for a single suit. The problem we've got, living abroad is that alot (not all) of the vendors dont really give u a breakdown of all of the assocoiated costs ie. Cost of Kapra, cost of stitching, cost of extras etc. there just appeared to be a flat rate of 7000rs and i'm sorry call me SCROOGE but no lawn outfit is worth that kinda money BUT if people are going to just stump up the cash, these ridiculous over- inflated prices will continue to be the norm.
I really hope we can get some decent priced branded stuff, please post up some pics if you can guys,

I have never bought a designer over priced lawn suit nor will I. The 2 lawn replicas that I got from proto last year I only wore 3-4 times and thats it. Anyway I am heading towards pakistan in a few days and I will go and visit some lawn exhibitions, but it will be very hard with 3 small kids but anyhow I do want to buy lawn but dont know which ones to get, Mausummery was looking good ? Anyway idea if the quality is good too ?

ooooooo exciting Saadia :) we want all the details from your trip hun! Yep i also ended up getting a Lakahani copy from Proto and i wore it loads, the quality was really really good , so i think i'll wait for some good unbranded prints or wait for the copies!

Brummie, me very excited too but halaat in paksitan especially the gas problem is very bad, like you dont have gas on certain days, so its hard to find cars that will drive those days, yes we will be renting a car on daily basis. I will have my camera with my iA and make pics. Please do me a favour and write about exhibitions in Islamabad/Pindi area with dates here and I will do my best to visit them and post pics and my comments on them the best I can.
ps. the Lakhani copy was great, I am taking it along for my trip to wear there.
pss. Pls tell me where you mom went shopping last year and that darzi she used.

I do understand Proto, and if I can get it close to the price that the lawn companies will sell it I will go for it. I think the problem that happens is that some ladies buy bulk and leave nothing for others. They charge extorshinist prices. Something for 5000 to 10000 rps. This is the responsibility of the lawn companies to control. I remember last yr some pple were saying that SS exhibition had closed early as they were sold out. :(

well i know guys prototype is really reasonable.
i really dnt get why sum vendors are making us fools...mausummery published yesterday on their facebook page all designs wid prices...and vendors who have been to the exhibiiton are charging 75-100dollars for them. thats a big ripp off...
when mausummery are selling their 3piece lawn suit for 2000-3000 rps and we shall pay 100 dollars :S
