I’ve just finished my first year of A Levels at college.
I got better results than expected in my first year and i am expecting to get AAB-AAC next year so can someone help me choose a university.
I did by Business A Level as an intensive and got an A. Sociology i should get an A. Politics i should get B or C. I will take History as an AS next year and i will expect a B or C as i have heard it is hard. I am doing it out of interest.
I am looking to finish uni and try chartered accountancy afterwards and get a graduate position in one of the Big 5.
I am definitely looking to do a degree in London and a few courses have stood out.
Law at Kings College
Management at Kings - may not happen because i don’t do maths.
Economics at UCL - again i don’t do maths.
Law at SOAS
Accountancy and Finance at LSE - Sociology and Business may not be recognised at LSE.
Law at Queen Mary
International Banking and Finance at City
Law at UCL - Only if i surprise myself and get 3A’s.
Now those are the universities i am looking at.
I am looking for a Uni which is good academically and has a lot of Pakistanis and Muslims as i most likely will go Halls and social scene would be important to me in that there are a lot of Muslims around.
At first glance myself Kings looks to be a perfect balance of academic reputation but not full of snobbish private school kids which i have heard about UCL. Kings i have heard has normal people and has a lot of Pakistanis and Muslims so is good in getting to know people.
If i go Kings then I will try Law as i think management is a wasted choice as i don’t do maths. I am good at maths but not A Level standard which a lot of people seem to struggle with.
Kings will probs be first choice. Then a choice between QM and SOAS fora 2nd choice. I am wondering if i should apply UCL as i would be shocked if i got 3A’s. I have also been told that UCL and Kings don’t like it if you apply to both, true??
Well that is my situation and i have to make my choices soon so any help will be much appreciated.
P.S Mr. Fraudia you have been very helpful before and so was Fasal. In Pakistan what exactly is the best part of accountancy to major in in Pakistan. A frined of mine is concentrating on taxation. What do you you recommend?. Also out of the unis i have mentioned above. I can be specific now instead of hypothetical as i was before. What will Pakistani accounts firms see as the best Uni here?? Thanks again.
