I went with the second option. And I would expect my husband to also do this **“lower his gaze and guard his modesty”

It is the best way forward I believe.

If (Allah forbid) you were a mother of a boy who is diabetic, but he tells you that he only loves watching chocolates and cakes of different types, except the sugar free cakes that you prepare at home (the taste of which he has become used to of). He has very little self control as evident from his hungry eyes when he sees those cakes, that he has not tasted yet. Which option would you select:

1. Tell him that he can roam around the grocery stores and shops to look at the most delicious looking creamy cakes and chocolates but can’t touch or bite one.

2. Tell him that he may go to markets but should try to avoid looking at those cakes and chocolates because you fear that one day his temptations might overcome his self control and he would secretly buy one (which he had been longing for a long time) to taste how delicious it is, specially if he gets an offer by anyone. (when you are away)
   After you have decided your answer, scroll down to the next question:
   If (Allah forbid) you were a wife of a man who can’t control his gaze, and loves to watch with excitement beautiful women from different places, except for his wife at home (of course he has got used to of her beauty). He has very little self control and a strong desire for the forbidden lustful sights as evident from his thirsty eyes. Which option would you select:

3. Tell him that he can roam around the shopping centers and malls to look at the most (so called) hot looking women but can’t talk to them or secretly take phone number/chat…etc.

4. Tell him that he can go to shopping centers but (you discourage, wish and pray that) it is better not to look at women because you fear that one day his GROWING temptations might overcome his declining self control and he would secretly start talking/chatting/…etc. with them specially if he gets an offer by anyone, when you are away. (You suspect this relationship might GROW even further)
