I’m looking to get 4 or 5 suits stitched, and I was wondering what will still be in style so I can wear them for a while without it being totally out of fashion. I absolutely love the long kameez trend but I heard it’s starting to go away? Thanks for your input!
You are right long shirts and kaftan are very much in these days but I don't know about them going away any time soon unless a new style takes over which I don't see happening any time soon.
You should try to buy different styles anyway.. don't just order all dresses in one style only.
Fashion in pakistan emerges from Karachi i believe ... when it gets very regular in karachi then it moves to pujab and other areas so karachi ppl please contribute whats in there these days ...
i have seen in new pakistani dramas normal length shirt and trousers ... dnt know when they were shot but as per my opinion long shirts should stay for atleast 3 more years
Ijaars are in fashion. I have seen some really short kameezay on the runway. They look lovely!
i recently got a long gown made frm asifa n nabeel...asifa was tellin me dat by next yr short shirts will b inn wit bell botoms..n brides wil start wearnin shorter versionb of shirts as compared 2 dis yr..too long lengths ll also go away...she said full sleeves r too much inn..almost al her dresses had full sleeves..i didnt happen 2 c a single short lenght shirt or gown or frock thr bt she said too much long lenghts ll b gettin shortened soon...though nt completely short
With all due respect to fashionistas here, I think classical shalwar kameez always remain in fashion, an evergreen style, its nice to have couple of items matching the current trend but I'd never make a whole wardrobe out of them trends. I remember bell bottoms with short were so huge back in the noughties but I can't even think of wearing them at gathering whereas my traditional shalwar kameez can outshine any of those crazy kaftaan dress, massive A shaped dress that would be more fitting for women pregnant with triplets.
shirts are bit short now.. but they r still long.. :D and as per trousers.. every thing from shalwar to cuelotts and even fitted trousers.(totally yuck) are inn.. just make sure u have cuelotts in ur wardrobe along with sum panel-ld A-line shirts n a mughl typo frock :)
nn21 yaar y r u worried abut the future fashion wen there ll b short shirts then catch it but ritenow do chill wid looong shirts...i think the next whole year is wid loong shirts n frocks...2012 could b wid smething diff n new:)

I agree. nn21 I think there's nothing wrong with having 'classical shalwar kameez' in your wardrobe, they are definitely a staple and will never go out of fashion. However, it's fun to have some 'fashiony' pieces aswell like long kameezay or short kameezay or whatever you fancy! Don't stress too much, and good luck xx
