Which sentence is the correct one?

If you want to use is as a tagline…

The name you can trust
or
A name you can trust

Re: Which sentence is the correct one?

Marketing slogan? how much is the winner’s prize? :chai:

I’ll go with the second one.

The -->Company
A → name

Re: Which sentence is the correct one?

*The name you CAN trust! *[this is the correct one as you are specifying a company!]

Re: Which sentence is the correct one?

Both are correct depending on the context. I would go with the second one just because it sounds more right.

Re: Which sentence is the correct one?

Sounds righter?

Costco, the name you can trust
costco, a name you cane trust.

The sounds righter to me.

Re: Which sentence is the correct one?

More right sounds better than righter in my opinion. Should avoid both though. :hmmm:

Re: Which sentence is the correct one?

"A" in the second sentence is for "name" which is not specific. On the other hand you can use "the" but then it will pertain to the name of company. I will prefer the second sentence.

Re: Which sentence is the correct one?

I'd prefer the second

Re: Which sentence is the correct one?

If i want to use it... I don't :)

seriously, don't use that tagline, why don't u and i discuss tag lines over drinks

PS: by drinks I mean fanta, orangina etc

Re: Which sentence is the correct one?

Which one is correct

X2, a guppy you cannot trust - or
X2, the guppy you cannot trust

?

Re: Which sentence is the correct one?

Second one

Re: Which sentence is the correct one?

First one true for men, second one true for ladies.

Re: Which sentence is the correct one?

You all have made me confused.... Thanks BTW :)

P.S. I am choosing A

Re: Which sentence is the correct one?

j/k monk ;)

Re: Which sentence is the correct one?

There shouldnt be any confusion in not trusting X2.

See it all depends on the context in which you are using it. Otherwise none is wrong.

Btw, here is how you should think. Take the same example in multiple sentences.

For example,

1) A sentence you can think of.. Or, the sentence you can think of..

2) Rems, a nick you have chosen.. Or Rems, the nick you have chosen..

HTH

Re: Which sentence is the correct one?

^ What is HTH?

A name you can trust…:k:

P.S. I am not language expert.

Re: Which sentence is the correct one?

“Hope that helps”

Thats why @Cheegum should play his acronym game in General forum so everyone can learn :snooty:

Re: Which sentence is the correct one?

good question

Re: Which sentence is the correct one?

I would go with 'The' because name of company is already mentioned.
