We also do this and call it Dhikr.

Thats a very good example, just like building dargahs or praying on graves is forbidden in Islam but still many muslims do that, the same way worshipping of idols is not taught by hindu scriptures, but still hindus do that.

Every religion goes through currpution phase, Chirstianity was currupted during medivial times, hindusism got currupted much before that and these days Islam is getting currupted by the misuse of the word is Jihad.

Why I say this, I love to do comparative religious study, I have studied books on Skihism and hinduism, buddhism, but not on Chistianity.

Om does not mean trinity. Its a sacred sound in Sikhism, hinduism, jainism, and buddhism. Its the sound from which the universe was created. Ek Omkar means One God, and that is believed by all above mentioned religions..

For many years Indian hindus, convert their first born son or one of their sons to Sikhism. You are more than welcome to ask your friend Amanpreet.

Sikhism, jainism, buddhism have reformed curruption that grew in the hinduism, but all believe in birth and rebirth and One God. Just like un-curruputed Hinduism.

And do not follow or understand, "There is no God but Allah and Muhammad PHUB is his Prophet"

Om (aum) represents the trinity of Brahma (creator), Vishnu (preserver) and Shiva (destroyer) in Hinduism.

The Hindu deities (including Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva) don't have any significance in Sikhism, they are considered God's creatures rather than gods or parts of God.

Guru Gobind says in Chaupai Sahib:

"Mae na Ganeshahe pritham manaaoon.
Kishan Bishana kabahoo na dhyaoon."

I don't consider Ganesha as auspicious **
**I don't have faith in Krishna or Vishnu.

In the Guru Granth Sahib it says:

“Those who serve Shiva and Brahma cannot find the limits of God” .

I am aware that some Punjabi Hindu Khatris (not Indian Hindus in general) brought up their first born sons as Sikh because they saw Sikhs as a milliatry wing of Hinduism (but Sikhs themselves don't see themselves as such).

Sikhism and Buddhism don't see themselves as reformed versions of Hinduism, neither Sikhism nor Buddhism believe in any of the Hindu scriptures and they condemn many practices deeply rooted in Hindu scripture.

Re: Which Religion you would choose.

When my family ruined my life by doing things to me in the name of Allah, I began doubting Islam. Much later when I began reading more about true Islam, and reading more ahadith about the rights of females and how our Prophet Muhammad (saww) treated females, and about more topics, then I realised Islam really is the true religion and many people mix the negative cultural aspects with Islam, which creates a false Islam. Real Islam is the true religion. Eventually, when I had the choice, I remained a Muslima and try to become a better Muslima now, aim to become a real Muslima following the true Islam.
