I was wondering, which Prophets (PBUT) that we know of, lived with their parents or in-laws as adults? Jazak’Allah.
i dont think history mentions that....
maybe it was not that important an issue so no one bothered to record it....
Hazrat Musa (a.s.) lived with his father in law until he lived in self imposed exile away from the pharoahs land and before he received divine inspirations. He had already left the place with his family when on his way he saw a fire in a bush and went towards it and Allah talked to him.
I'm not sure but i think Hazrat Iesa (a.s.)also lived with his mother Hazrat Mariyam (a.s).
^
actually Moosa (as) had not received prophethood when he was living with his father-in-law (who, by the way was also a prophet)....

I've never heard that Musa (AS) father in law was a prophet, what is the reference? Thanks.
Shoaib (as), who was sent as a prophet to Madayen....
he is not named in the Quran but many narrations report it as such....

yes thats why i wrote "...before he received divine inspirations."
And i too haven't heard of his faherinlaw being a prophet. Do let us know the refernces.
Thanks.
From my readings, Harun (AS), his brother, was a prophet.
Also, I thought muslims are only to take those mentioned in Qur'an as prophets and messengers, with certainty.
You hear that Buddha and others might have been, etc, but thats just opinion, something we really wouldnt know, and cannot claim with factual certainty.
^ yes munni,
we've always heard there were some 124000 prophets sent to mankind at diff places and ages. we are sure about the prophets mentioned in the Quran, but certain facts and traits make people believe that people like Budha may also have been prophets. Some say that perhaps Ram etc, the Hindu Gods may also have been prophets...but of course people can only think and try to figure it out but never be sure.
