Re: Which Prophet married only ONCE in his lifetime?
why everyone is telling unmarried, i am not sure but i think hazrat mosa alehe salam had only one wife (daughter of hazrat shoaib alehe salam)wallahu alam bissawab
You think that Hazrat Ayub may had one wife also?
Re: Which Prophet married only ONCE in his lifetime?
^I have only heard of Hazrat Ayub having one wife. Same with Hazrat Musa. What about Hazrat Adam? And Hazrat Nuh? Hazrat Lut's wife was turned to stone and I only recall him having just that one wife.
Re: Which Prophet married only ONCE in his lifetime?
Read surah kahf for hazrat khizar alehe salam, well hazrat izrael is angel of death
Can you explain what connection surah Kahf has with Hazrat Khizr? Is the surah recited to see Hazrat Khizr?

Can you explain what connection surah Kahf has with Hazrat Khizr? Is the surah recited to see Hazrat Khizr?
Regarding him it is mention in surah kahf , from ayah no 60-82 ,story of hazrat mosa alehe salam and hazrat khizar alehe salam

Re: Which Prophet married only ONCE in his lifetime?
If this verse is an evidence that all were married, then it's a proof that all had kids too.
Do we know if Jesus had any kids?
Thank you for your response. I did not say all were married, neither did i say all had kids. I am merely saying that we cannot be sure who did not have wife and/or kids. The ones we know were married are verifiable, the ones on which Quran is silent about, we cannot draw the conclusion that they did NOT have wives and kids.
Quran says Messengers before Muhammad PBUH had wives and kids.
By reading this, we can neither conclude that He (as) was married, nor can we confirm that he was not married. Therefore, we are not sure. Not a rocket science there.
Re: Which Prophet married only ONCE in his lifetime?
What does this question hope to achieve besides arguing for argument sake? ![]()
Why should anyone care?
I mean the end result will not get any meaningful result benefiting the people of this age socially, morally or religiously etc.
Re: Which Prophet married only ONCE in his lifetime?
Strong evidence that many prophets had one wife or only one wife at a time.
Sayyiduna Zakariya (AS) most had one wife Sayyidah Elishba (RA) ... other than who were stated above already.
The evidence of Isa (AS) not having any wives is from the Bible ... with such proximity around his life you would have had at least some indication that he (AS) got married ... We can see this is clearly not the case ... Muslims do not ignore history or evidence that can be gauged from other scriptures.

Hazrat Musa (AS) had at least two wives. It was allowed in their sharia to marry two sisters at that time. Hazrat Musa's father-in-law was not the Prophet Shoaib (AS). He was another pious man from Mada'in.

Ji mumkin hy kay do he hun, Allah knows best, i was not sure about one. Rest my limited knowledge regarding hazrat musa's father in law was shoaib alehe salam and i may be wrong but there are difference of opinion so it could be as you said. Allah knows best!!
Re: Which Prophet married only ONCE in his lifetime?
Which Prophet had ONLY ONE Wife in his lifetime?
From what I know, most Prophets (AS) had one wife at a time. That is also according to Quran, as in Quran, Allah says that it is very unlikely that a man (human) can do justice if he has two or more wives, and obviously, Prophets were God fearing humans.
Anyhow, few had more than one wives at one time, but they were those few who at the time had no 'love, affection and emotional attachment' with their multiple wives (as their attachment at the time was only for Allah) ... hence for them, it was no problem treating wives equally and justly, with whom they had no love, no affection, nor any emotional attachment.
Example: Prophet (SAW) had both phases. Phase of love, affection and emotional attachment with his wife hence only one wife, Khadija (RA), and then, phase of no 'love, affection and emotional attachment' to his wives, hence multiple wives.
Prophet (SAW) loved and got emotionally attached to Khadija (RA) and as long as she (RA) was alive, Prophet (SAW) did not marry anyone.
Aft the death of Khadija (RA), Prophet (SAW) did not loved or got emotionally attached to any of his wives, and thus married many. Lack of love and emotional attachment to his (SAW) later wives can be seen from two verses in Quran, where it shows that Prophet (SAW) was willing to even divorce all his later wives and Allah gave that message to all his wives (through Quran) showing Prophet (SAW) lack of love and emotional attachments with them.
Surah 33: Ayah 28-29 (Yusuf Ali): O Prophet! Say to thy Consorts: "If it be that ye desire the life of this World, and its glitter,- then come! I will provide for your enjoyment and set you free in a handsome manner. But if ye seek Allah and His Messenger, and the Home of the Hereafter, verily Allah has prepared for the well-doers amongst you a great reward. (Surah revealed around 5 Hijri)
Surah 66: Ayah 5 (Yusuf Ali): It may be, if he divorced you (all), that Allah will give him in exchange consorts better than you,- who submit (their wills), who believe, who are devout, who turn to Allah in repentance, who worship (in humility), who travel (for Faith) and fast,- previously married or virgins. (Surah revealed around 7 Hijri)
Obviously, with love, affection, emotional attachment and children from Khadija (RA) and all her (RA) support to him (SAW), Prophet (SAW) would never have thought of divorcing Khadija (RA) neither Allah would have given message to Khadija (RA) mentioning such possibility. Such message mentioning possibility of divorce, can only be given to wives with whom a person has no love, affection, or emotional attachment.
Re: Which Prophet married only ONCE in his lifetime?
Prophet Adaam (peace be upon him), father on mankind had only one wife, hazrat Hawwa, mother of mankind (may Allah be pleased with her)

Salam Alaikum Brother Saleem. The Prophet SallAllahu Alaihi wa Ahlihi wa Sallam had a very special relationship with Khadija Radiallahu Anha but to say He SallAllahu Alaihi wa Ahlihi wa Sallam had no love for other Mothers of the Believers is NOT correct in my opinion. You can say 'less' but not 'no love'. The attachment is such that they are His Wives still now all of them including Khadija Salam Alaiha ??

Brother, I would not like to argue … anyhow, I would like to ask you a question:
If you have love, affection, and emotional attachment with someone who is your wife, would you talk to her about divorcing her in any way … or give her option to take divorce telling her that if she would take divorce than who cares, You will give her plenty of money and would let her go, as you may find someone more better than her … and that also you tell her not even in joke, but seriously?
I think, Allah knew the feelings of prophet (SAW), and that is what Allah revealed in Quran, addressing wives (RA) of Prophet (SAW) … not at one place, but at two place couple of years apart, in Surah 33 (ayah 28-29) and other in Surah 66 (ayah 5).
Well, that is what I believe after reading the verses in Quran. If you have different interpretation to what is mentioned in Quran (ayah quoted), please explain.

In my opinion, we should look at it from the prospective of Prophet Ibrahim (Alaihis Sallam) near sacrifice.
The other aspect is that The Mothers of the Believers chose Allah and His Messenger SallAllahu Alaihi wa Ahlihi wa Sallam of their own accord
So we have Mothers Peace be upon them who have perfected Faith, whom the Messenger SallAllahu Alaihi wa Ahlihi wa Sallam was willing to sacrifice
And we have the Noor [light] of forgiveness, leniency and protection for our Mothers and Wives included in The Deen

The feeling of The Prophet SallAllahu Alaihi wa Ahlihi wa Sallam was of Love, it was Our Mothers who had a slight understandable problem
We all get selfish at times, then how about If the Messenger of Allah SallAllahu Alaihi wa Ahlihi wa Sallam could be with you and was not?
Unfortunately, in a plot to spend more time with Huzoor Pak, they went too far and said The Prophet SallAllahu Alaihi wa Ahlihi wa Sallam had bad breath, which is 'bad' in the Sight of Allah Most Merciful. And came the rebuke
It was the plot, not the jealousy, because Umm ul Momineen was still jealous [it seems] after Huzoor Pak left the world, In Sahih Al Bukhari [Aisha Bewley translation]:
Some people try using this against Umm Ul Momineen but its a matter of interpretation. There is lots of scope for wrong interpretation here
This is my impression of the incident and my impression is both ayats are referring to the same incident. Is this true to your knowledge?
