It's a wife search, not a 'NYCGori's new BFF' search. I would look for someone whose education and age is compatible to my brother, not me!
okie then you putting yourself in your brothers shoes.
so as guy which option will you choose? (marrying the same age and education is not an option, cuz then its better to look for your soul mate in your school class)
Well it doesn't really matter, as long as my brother would be happy with her.
But me being an evil nund... if i had to choose...
1. she better not be prettier then me 2. education above a masters 3. better be a moti 4. her cooking better suck 5. older: so shes always the buddi in the family
i) we can both engage in meaningful conversation with each other on mutually interesting topics.
ii) we can respect each others' point of view - which itself is not only an attribute of one's age and education, but also other factors including experience, preferences, personal circumstances, personality traits etc.

LC, you dont know the person before marriage (doesnt matter whether its an arrange or its a love marriage). all you can judge them by the given criteria...even in jobs employers specifically ask for certain criteria. as degree and work experiences the best way to judge anyones qualifications? so what you have suggested is an example of utopia.
so prior to marriage if you were put in the situation, which one the two option you would had chosen?

I wouldn't marry the person if I weren't able to make an informed choice. In a day and age where you can communicate with each using various means including the phone, the Internet as well as personally (if that's considered appropriate by the families), getting to know these basic details about a person isn't that difficult. It might take some time... even a couple of years... but in the end, it's worth it.
I actually applied this criteria in my own case, so it's not exactly "utopia".
