So I can’t decide which one to wear. I’m having one of those times where you are seriously short on clothes (haven’t been to pakistan for quite some time and these two are the only appropriate ones i hve):bummer:. The person who’s wedding it is, is a distant cousin/friend and they’re hving a wedding/reception together. I attached 2 pics so plz help me decide which one is better:
The 1st one is a long shirt w/ off-white/cream colored pants. It has a velvet bail on the daaman, the neck area and the sleeves. There’s the golden glittery lines all over it. This is more of what is “in” these days.
2nd one is a golden/white combo. the kaam is only on the neck and a little bit on the sleeves and there’s a golden bail on the daaman (the same one you can see on the sleeves on the right) this has a shilwar and the dupatta is plain white). Oh and keep in mind tht my mom bought this back in Dec 2009 and i hvent gotten a chance to wear it yet. and the shirt is not long either. i think this is a little outdated cuz it has a shilwar and a short shirt (not too short, though)

so plz help. Which do you think is better among these two? i know they are both pretty plain for a walima but its not relly a close friend/relatives wedding.
but dont u guys think the second one might look outdated w/ the short shirt and shilwar? cuz i think its like long shirts and those pant-type shilwars that are "in'
I think the second one too, the first one looks more like casual everyday wear whereas the second outfit is a bit more showy and wedding appropriate methinks.
That's a tough one but I will also go with number 1. Like Sara said you can dress it up with accessories. Also, I don't think it matters how fancy something is but what makes you feel comfortable.
you can buy golden patti and a white patti to make the kameez longer , get ur mum to sew them onto the white suit , that will make it longerand shalwar is not outdated it is still in
The first one, mainly because YOU prefer it, and if that's what you're comfortable in, then regardless of what anyone says, that's what you should wear. Secondly, I've faced this dilemma before and I went along with the more updated, but less blinged out outfit instead of the outdated shinier one. Just accessorize and do some fun makeup and you'll be good to go!
