which oil do you use.....

to fry pakoras in:
vege. oil
corn oil
or
canola oil

I was at the grocery store yesterday debating and looking  at which oil to get to make pakoras in (since i use olive oil in our regular cooking)…I ended up getting canola oil.

I made like 2 mirch ka pakoray and 30-40 aloo kay for only 2 ppl :smack:
Let’s just say I had a little tooo many :yummy:

Anyhow, I wake up in the morning with oily skin…especially my t-zone area which i definetly noticed the difference overnight:eek: (keeping in mind that I have normal/dry skin)

Can someone please tell me the connection between consuming pakoras and waking up with an oily face.

Re: which oil do you use.....

and why wouldn't you use olive oil for frying pakoras as well?

Re: which oil do you use.....

because to fry pakoras you need atleast a gallon or more and keeping in mind that olive oil isn't cheap

Re: which oil do you use.....

that's not true. You may need a gallon of corn oil but olive oild is great with retention. You need to pour 1/4 of regular oil when using oilve oil.

Anyway, I think Canola oil is considered suitable for deep frying.

Re: which oil do you use…

Olive oil is healthier aint it?

And if oily food makes ur skin oily, i shud be a big hairy greaseball.. :bummer:

Johnson's Baby Oil

Re: which oil do you use.....

Faryat
u had normal skin to begin with. HOw could it go oily over nite?
U sure u didnt' imagine it?

Re: which oil do you use.....

do you get "light veg oil" rape seed oil
or sunflower oil

corn oil isnt so good for you

olive oil loses its good properties when used to deep fry..

and it doesnt heat well to a high temp

for a lower cost version of olive oil try "pomace olive oil" sometimes it is sold in cash and carry's or italian food stores...

it comes in large cans

its the last remaining oil thats squeezed out of the olive pulp using solvents and is mixed with some regular olive oil
its not to everybodies taste
