Am getting a new. Want a reliable low budget car for mostly city journeys with occasional motorway drive. Which ones are recommended

Honda civic, toyota corolla - pretty reasonable price and doesn't give any problem. I bought '08 certified preowned civic with 60k miles and have been with me for 4 yrs now, never had a single problem

I agree with Pisi. Buy a certified pre-owned. You are going to save a huge amount of money.

Haha thanks guys. I am so tempted by the cars slightly out of budget cars. I keep thinking a grand more won't hurt except I dnt have the money.
I am test driving a Toyota auris and a Volkswagen polo tmrw. Both are pre owned. Will see which one speaks to me. ☺

You should also look for Nissan Senatra 2012 or Huyndai Sonata preferably year 2010. Because they are affordable but also not too shabby.

I just reserved a Toyota Auris :) lovely colour and great condition. Only driven 13000 miles. Will be picking it up end of the week. Excited!!!!

Well the car is quite sluggish between gear changes and the ride not very smooth. The car is an auto gearbox but you can really feel it changing gears when accelerating or decelerating
