It depends on how you define "largest"
If you mean "By Land Area", the British Empire in 1922 was the largest at 22.63% of world land vs 22.29% controlled by the Mongols in 1279.
If you mean "By % of World POpulation", then the Achaeminid Empire of Persia ruled over 45% of the world's estimated population in 500BC, despite controlling just 5% of the land. BY contrast, the British Empire in 1922 rules only 20% of the world's population, making it half the size (by relative population) of the Achaeminids.

British Empire was the most comprehensive empire. It was political, economical and socially the most organized empire.

economical and organised? How come? It was during British empire that India faced disastrous famine and plague. They destroyed local industries and promoted harvest of crops that only benefited them at the cost of hunger of subjects.

From modern history - British Empire!
Given the size the of UK and the fact they had a very small and 'weak' Army, plus the lasting influence British imperialism has on the world till this day. They very much shaped the modern world we're living in.
I'd say British Empire was more than just invasion of the territory and flag bearing exercise, it was the most sophisticated and organised form of political, economic and cultural imperialism.

In terms of largest - I'd say the Old Persian Empire (Achaemenid Empire) was the largest Empire in the ancient history both in terms of territory and population size.
