Can you give some figures to support your arguments as to how the Pakistani agriculture sector suffers from inefficiencies. Presently, it's just one person's opinion and lacks any credence.

I dont know enough to say anything about India's agricultural life, but all I know is that zameendari is a big problem in Pakistan. There is no need to compare it with India's problems.

If something is wrong, its wrong.

How do you say that zameendari is a big problem. Is it hampering the growth of agricultural sector, or merely an social issue..

interesting observation...the feudal and zamindari system in pakistan is a major if not THE cause of all its problems. This is because it undermines justice.

Outlaw look at the history books...other countries who had this system never got anywhere e.g. England - in Englands case when they got rid of their feudal system they made enormouys leaps benefitting the whole of their society and coupled with other factors became a major world power.

Pakistan could be so much more if this sytem was destroyed because then greed, illiteracy, corruption etc could be successfully tackled.

We could make you an ISI agent and ask you to infiltrate India? Afterall, rvikz believes that the 2000 ppl who torched the train before gujrat were ISI agents, ;)

well done spock :rotfl:
interestin proposition…

Pakistan has a significantly lower yield per acre because of Feudalism. Another problem is corruption in the irrigation system preventing poorer land owners from getting water. Besides that it is estimated there are 20,000 landless Haris kept as slaves in Sindh and Southern Punjab.

India have more fuadlism problem, in india it is not only about the landowning and having indentured servants, it is also about keeping them in line. Which means that the feudal lords harvest the so called “Dakos” (pairates). These dakos do whatever inhumen things they can, to people who raise their voices against those fuedal lords. Keep in mind this is in india, and I am not saying that from watching indian movies:biggrin:. The biggest and live example of such feudal lordism is the Pohlan Davi. I don’t say that fuedal system don’t exist in pakistan, but it is not as bad as in india. You have very large country with huge population so this a sever problem. Yet in Pakistan it is in very small isolated parts. Most of the country is very bright minded.

FEUDALISM IS RESPONSIBLE FOR OUR LOW AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTIVITY RATES
The survival of feudalism in Pakistan has led to some very low
agricultural productivity rates. The feudal landlords have not improved
our agricultural productivity rates and the feudal landlord have not
formed the agri-business corporation that propelled Europe and the USA in
the forefront of world business.

A table of the World Resources
1996-97 shows that while Egypt has a per hectare cereals yield of 5,921
kg. Indonesia 3,864,
Bangladesh 2,656 kg, India 2,062 kg, Pakistan is almost at the bottom
with 1,894 kg per hectare.
No wonder our food deficit is increasing and becoming more varied and we
are importing 2.4 million tonnes of wheat this year, and despite our
animosity to India importing many vegetables in haste from there.
