oh and ARY was a lot better before it got a separate music channel. Now all the music is on the music channel, and ARY thus seems more to be ideal for housewives who want to watch dramas.

the production value seperates these channels. Prime tv programming looks like it was made in the 1980's, ary programs looks like they were made in the mid 90's, but geo programmings are all uptodate. Geo just needs to come up with more programming to replace the news and also couple more musical shows would be nice. The dramas were pretty good until the latest safaid posh and jo baat ghar main hai fiasco.

I discontinued Geo after a few months, cz of news overload, and no one in my home watched it (I don't watch a lot of TV myself, so I took myself out of the equation).
What I have seen, ARY gets pretty good coverage of news, plus much more entertaining content in the form of dramas.

yeah, if there is any fault with geo, it is their news. 5 minute update every 2-3 hours is okay but they overdo it.

I think Geo has a decent amount of entertainment. Besides, all the entertainment is concentrated around primetime which is when families are finally sitting down together in front of a TV anyway. Although some more music shows would be nice. But they're supposed to be coming out with their music channel as well, though.

I will vote for ARY. Geo is too Indianized, its better if I go for Zee or B4U if I want to watch the same antakshiri and other crap. News standard is quiet good and so is the presentation. But ARY is more of a family channel where everyone gets his/her piece of pie.

geo is no where as good as ary.. and ary's news is better then geo's anyway... geo is basiclly a news channel with bad dramas... ary on the otherhand has everything... its ur ultimate family channel.. geo is for budhay and ppl who have nothing else to do but watch news every 15 minutes... altho sum stuff on geo is good.. they are improving.. learning from ary :)

ARY is better...
but geo has better mangement... thats why they are in market...

ARY is certainly better than geo... way way better than geo.. right now i have all three channels.. i just subcribed to geo last month... i hate seing the same repititive news after every freakin hour.. its just too much... plus they are more liberal than ary... which i dont like... if u wanna know whats in pakistan today.. you can turn to geo to see all the latest fashion they show in their dramas which is probably my purpose of watchin too..
Geo's dramas are so pathetic... yes i am talking about all the dramas except few comedy shows... they cast the best actor/actress and even the production/story/direction/acting everythin is superb but the way they make the story too long is simply pathetic.... i cant stand their dramas...
on the other hand ary's drama are much better.... atleast they end soon....
i used to like katakut.. but its OKAY not that good anymore.. i was impresssed to see their programs durring eid.. but now it comes back to normal.
Ary have some great religious program... and in geo... the only best religious program is aalim online, in this program we can send our questions and get response from both Shia maulana and sunni maulana.. i think its a very unique program..
but ary has plenty of them. they also show lectures of zakir ahmed.. who is a very good scholor at this time.
comedy shows/talk shows.. ary is still better..
they show lyari king, loose talk, such much(old ptv drama but amazing), Jee Minister Jee zabardast drama, etc
they show a long play drama or some indian/paki concert every saturday night...i love most of them...
wat else... as far as documentaries and political programs... i think both channels have quality of programs... but i would say ARY still rules...
what ary lacks is that they dont show that much music on their channels which geo shows alot..
to me if i wanan watch somethin.. i will first turn ary on.. if i think i dont wanan see something i will turn to ptv prime(trust me their 8:pm to 9 pm drama's still rules) then geo will be the last channel i would want to see..

Both channels are pretty boring. Geo’s dramas are cr@p and it is hard to keep up w/ ARY dramas cuz they have 50 of them running simultaneously.

GEO through its agressive marketing and attractive style of reporting surely has caught everyone's attention. It sure is the number 1 channel in its field at this time amongst viewers in Pakistan.
ARY ONE world another news channel although has a balanced and sensible style of reporting lacks greatly on other fronts. However, it won't be an exaggeration to say that Shahid Masood's program on ARY wins the hearts and minds of people showing reality in a new way.
Having said all that, I find GEO to be extremely harmful for simple people having little knowledge and understing of certain things. Their news reporting is more "chat-patti" than being useful. Honestly, their religious programming ----Alim Online" gets on my nerves. Most importantly this program is often misleading!
Somebody said it 100% right , they are too much into India. If one doesen't look at their logo.., it sometimes becomes hard to differentiate whether it is an Indian channel or Pakistani. I don't have a problem with that, since the whole country is going that way, but their portrayal of Pakistan seems more fake than anything close to reality. On Basant festival, the whole country seemed painted yellow. Afterall, they have to show that they are projecting the "softest" image of Pakistan. Otherwise how would the Generals face their masters.

I myself only watch 2 Programs on ARY
- Shaista & You (partly becasue of shaista :) )
- Views and news (if not conflicting with any of GEO program)

out of those programs bachay man ke sachay and 50 minutes are pretty lame... aalim online is loosing it... and jawab deh gets quite boring...
ary 1 world has better news programing :)

me thinks ARY is more better than GEO but personally none of them are nothing great in the first place. GEO can't decide if it is a news channel or an entertainment channel and ARY is ok i guess but nothing great.

For people who like to be updated about the happenings in Pakistan everyone 30 minutes should subscribe to Geo and those who are pakistani drama lovers like me should get Ary...if u ask me I like both the channels...so hard to tell which is the best.

none of them are more better than the other. They are both more worse than eachother. I am sick of desi tv.

oh yeah and also, ARY has more better presentation than GEO. The picture quality of ARY seems more better than both GEO and PTV combined and the Audio quality of ARY is more better too. I have noticed that with the exception of a couple of shows here and there, most of GEO's and PTV's programming is inaudible. Not that ARY is a lot better than GEO, but it is more better.
PS. there's this drama in GEO i believe and its so stupid. They are supposedbly showing an 80 year old married couple or something and the walls in their house are coloured blue, red, orange etc and they have those lava lamps and stuff like that every where. Yeah, that is what old farts like those are famous for.
