There’s only one gender that doesn’t have to deal with the pain of that time of the month and never has to worry about giving birth (imagine 9 months of nausea and pain followed by passing an 8 pound stool :bummer: )

You CAN choose your gender, we "do" gender all the time. I choose my gender and transgress culturally and socially constructed gender boundaries when I open my legs wide or relegate childcare duties to my husband. I have chosen my gender, and I am not very feminine though biologically female. There are more than two genders; I consider myself quite androgynous.

I have to agree with one of the posters above. You choose your gender every day with every action you take. You can be a guy and totally act like a pansy - i.e. feminine gender. Or you can be a female and totally act tomboy-ish or butch or whatever you want to call it.

So, if you take a particular action or line of thought and term it "male" or "female" in description - who's to say one sex or the other can't be responsible for that action or line of thought?

ex. Having a job.

Traditionally, identified as a man-thing. Well, I can be a female and get a job. Does that now make me one of the male gender? I still have my female reproductive organs and tissues. But I work. So, am I of the female gender or male gender?

Its all about how you define things, and what "male" or "female" means to you.

Quite frankly, the terms really don't mean a darn thing to me. My philosophy is - just be who you are and be comfortable with yourself and do what makes you happy, granted you're not hurting anyone. Pretty a-gender, I suppose.

Except I do like having my period. So, I'd have to pick staying biologically female, if it came right down to it.
