However good for the people of Iran if the change is imposed by Americans it would create more image problems for the Americans. As governments aside the general public of the neighboring countries wouldn't want that to happen to a neighboring country.

yeah but without the primary obstacles to stability: sectarian and ethnic warfare. the iranian people are far more homogenous than iraqis.
