I think the time has come for a "new" World Champion, ie a team that has never won the World Cup before.

And that team is Spain!

this time the WC will be very open with no clear favorites:

France has a pretty mediocre team at the moment apart from Ribery
Spain, on paper the favorites cuz they are the European Champions, but lost horribly against the US in the Confed Cup
Brazil, always a contender but very in consistent
Argentina: should be happy if they qualify at all
Italy, were humbled by Brazil and have too few good strikers for such a defensive team

I think this time both Holland and England stand a very good chance of advancing to the final. And of course, any team that Guus Hiddink might coach (i.e. Russia)
