which country admires us the most and needs to follow us the most?

i know indians do…peecha hi nahin chortai…plus chinese as well…jab daikho koi naa koi mauqah nikal laitai hain, hum sai trade karnai kaa…we are special… civlised agricutural brown-whites, but with fiercely martial traits…the right mix of central asian jangli-pan ,and agricultral mindsets with civislied foregin policy-making.
our geographical distance from europe n central asia makes us less prone to western nationalistic ideas and trends or middle eastern traditionalism…we dont like to be westernised like turkey felt pressured to…barely anyone can call us like afghanistan or iran in our outlook either, our foregin policy is too good for that, haha…we can own nuclear warheads, sell it around to the Islamic world, and then go around saying it was the work of independent hands in pakistan, haha…we are well-off as well, considering we dont have no oil in our backyard nor rivers of IT talents …we are south asian enough to not need to live off internationally financed pan-islamic jihad like central asians…we do have our own agricutlre to live on and sell to the world.
the only thing however, for somebody wanting to follow us, shud be…are u gifted like us in geogrpahy and resources, both human and non-human to consider being like us…figure it out, we’ll admire u all the more for making up for yr shortcomings to be like us…:flower1:

Re: which country admires us the most and needs to follow us the most?

Actually the CIS countries and most african countries (around 30) of them get their Civil Servants trained in Pakistan. Their diplomats even at the Ambassador level come to Pakistan to get trained. We have some military training programs which I am none to familiar with. As business we lag behind everybody.

Re: which country admires us the most and needs to follow us the most?

^ u got me confused.....so the fact that they get trained here, a plus or a negative?...how is that related to lagging abehind in business.....we dont have to rely on business from anyone do we, we aint like barren resources-less central asia nor does diplomatic french africa mean anything in context of well thier 'real halat'... being UN-savvy doesnt really mean anything in the real world....just show them thier subsistence levels to shut thier french mouths...:)

Re: which country admires us the most and needs to follow us the most?

Ok i will break it down. Any african diplomat from Comorros or say Zimbabwe gets trained in Pakistan. Ie they are taught in Pakistan how to be diplomats. The methods, the concepts, the education it all happens in pakistan. Its not only a plus but it earns us a rep of one of the best third world Foriegn Service.

Central Asia resource barren? Where did you come up with such an absurd claim? Being UN savy as you put it doesn't mean much in the real world. But it means everything when it comes down to deciding how you want to run and control the real world.

Business is the key to development. Trade is basically business and it has been proved over the past 10 to 15 years that increased Trade and one thing a developing country can do on its own to uplift itself. ASEAN and Brazil are excellent examples of this. China and Japan have proven this for the past 20 to 25 years.

Re: which country admires us the most and needs to follow us the most?

ok i will sum it up..sure foreign service counts.thast why we havnet been bombed into afghansitan or turned into iraq isn't it...inspite of the nuclear warheads..but it doesnt control too much...u cant really go around runnig and controlling the world if yr economic halat makes u beg for food continually like africa does..so in the end, just in case u were saying, that africans' UN-diplomacy is to be emulated, then..well forgt it, cuz well u werent..:)

central asia resource-barren....no oil to attract actual exploration, or mineral resources...infastructure's all built up like a colony...being landlocked is always so much fun..

and yes trade defiintley matters...but at the expense of military, that somebody will have to answer.....japan is not good enuff in that case....china?.... a country of that sort of size, and having lived those austere days in communism, u really want our sleepy agricultrusts to do that....lets just admit we r not prepared to work that hard and still be called 'developing'...

trade of course matters, for an average country....we weren't average, so we get off a lil more easily than anyone else wud in asia...everyone has thier own level of opeinig up to foregin investment and interference, but it is almost always in the context of when u cant afford to do anything else...

Re: which country admires us the most and needs to follow us the most?

Ok firstly do a search on the CIA world fact book. The CIS countries are richer in natural resources than Pakistan.

Secondly Japan is an excellent example. No natural resources. Can't produce enough food to feed their own people and look at where they are.

I don't understand your last paragraphy could you please explain it again?

Re: which country admires us the most and needs to follow us the most?

^I think Mali and Chad. those two would be good proteges for Pakistan...Rwanda?

Re: which country admires us the most and needs to follow us the most?

If i recall correctly we worked with South Africa for 10 years after Mandela came to power. Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Morocco etc. Only the larger more powerful nations. Mali and Chad come to us free of charge. The rest pay. Even as a developing country we look after the ones less fortunate then us.

Re: which country admires us the most and needs to follow us the most?

the CIS may be richer, as a whole...they are also larger as a whole...small country dynamics are different from large-country ones...besides we are also more stable than CIS..okay i cant say we are better off than them in natural resources, but we may be better off if u were to take a random chunk of them comparable to us in size... they also have a lot more to throw off from colonial days than we do, plus they are more in contact wit european pressures due to geographical proximity..

the last para, is abt how Japan, the excellent example, and China, the mega-beast, simply coudln't afford to be not be open to trade, if they wished to survive in the world....lacking in natural resources forces industrial expansion on u, esp in presence of hostile china?....for similar threats, we took the military route.... india and china cant afford to be militaristic and insular in thier stances considering thier large size.....we can afford to be....just about as much that keeps our economic and militarist growth rates at par with our negihbours.

as for maili and likes....white muslims please...central asians any time...

Re: which country admires us the most and needs to follow us the most?

CIS are not richer in monetary terms but in terms of natural resources they have oil, gas and coal. They are set for the next 50 years.

About pakistan we are more open to trade than India and Egypt. We are actually a very liberal developing economy. While India has tariff rates that average 50 to 60%. Ours don't go higher than 25%. So we are very open. We just dont get the FDI.

Actually we need FDI so we can't afford to be insular at all. We need more help than they do.

Re: which country admires us the most and needs to follow us the most?

CIS, may have oil, gas and coal...but thier actual explorations not considered very feasible.. esp in case of oil , which is considered most promising....now only if CIA fact books could tell u abt infrastructure, poor concentration of reserves, plain vs. rugged train....alas it doesnt.

we dont just not get FDI, we weren't as concerned either.....we didnt allow FDI to penetrate agriculture till only like 5 yrs ago.....sigining WTO rules and regulations is sucha major chore for us....so yes w have been quite inuslar till recently, inspite of the tariff levels u use to declare us as a liberal developing country....India n China are planned by the big corporations to see a major growth in mutlinational investments, largely due to thier better bunsines schools and openness to corporate culture... we 'were' defiintely much less open till today...:)

Re: which country admires us the most and needs to follow us the most?

The CIA World Fact book lists all of that. Infrastructure, water, electricity, military. They are excellent source for data.

Until recently? Our tarrif rates have not changed for the last 15 years. They are the same one from the 80s. WTO rules a chore for us? Since when? The only chore we have that we have to consult so many different ministires for the GATS offer which i worked on. Inshallah they should have that ready by the end of the summer.

I use? A 25% tariff rate on agriculture is more liberal than the EU!!! It an accepted fact in International Trade circles that we are a liberal economy. India is less open than US in all regards. Take a look at their legislation with regard to FDI and allowing MNCs to set up businesses in India.

Re: which country admires us the most and needs to follow us the most?

^…DON"T TELL ME!

but seriously its not a great idea to use single-source straightforward fact books and figures to come to conclusions…25% tariff rates… havent changed since 80s…that doesnt speak anything abt the items slammed with these tariff rates…these are probably the machinery we r importing and stufff…actual crop-grwoing has always been indigenous…recent polices are rumored to allow foregin investors in this domain as well…of course that wont get relfected in a nominal tariff rate wil it?

again Indian legislation may be stricter… but india has a tradition of being more consistently liberal, in the long-term…legislation doesn’t show how they’ve consistently build up institutions to assist foreign investment…thier IT and business institutes are a prime example…only a few yrs ago, we froze up the foregin currency reserves, copyright laws are still not there…speaks volumes abt the corporate culture over here in comparison…liberalism without stable insitutions really doesn mean much.

WTO regulations, last i heard ther was a great uproar on it…good to know it has be resolved…
