Re: Which colour should my dupatta be?
It depends on whether you want a balanced look or a more dramatic colorblock look. If you make shirt + dupatta the same color, the bottom piece will be like an accent piece, creating a colorblock look. I prefer this, but if you are going for a traditional look, you can keep it very balanced by making the dupatta the same color as your bottom.
I vote for making the dupatta in plum.
Re: Which colour should my dupatta be?
plum , matching the gown
Re: Which colour should my dupatta be?
The dupatta worn in the picture looks like rust color. You could go with that. Rustish bronze would look pretty.
But the first thought that came to mind was that you can make your dupatta the color of the embroidery or kaam on your clothes....but in a sheer see-through material. I don't know how exactly to explain it, but I'll try. Let's say the kaam is gold colored....then you can get a sheer see thru gold dupatta...and the border of your dupatta can be in either in embroidery that is either plum or green or a combo of both. And you can make the border of the dupatta thicker if you like. think that would look interesting/pretty. That way it won't look like a single color is dominating. My cousin wore a beigish-golden bridal lehnga and her dupata was the same color but sheer/see-through with an embroidered edge.
Re: Which colour should my dupatta be?
go wth the shirt's colour
Re: Which colour should my dupatta be?
Put both colours around your face and see which flatters more since that will be what will frame your face that day.
also, What kind of makeup are you thinking of? Gold/metallic smokey eyes with a plum lippy would work with both colour dupattas but I think a smokey metallic green eye would work better with a neutral lip and green dupatta.
My vote is for plum too.

Plum
Re: Which colour should my dupatta be?
i would go with plum.
Re: Which colour should my dupatta be?
I agree with sgc but if it's barat day dont go for a nude lippy -I'd suggest something slightly warmer so that you dont look worn out by the end of the day. something with peach undertones and pink pastel overtones would look subtle yet oomph for a bride.
Re: Which colour should my dupatta be?
I like the plum too.
Re: Which colour should my dupatta be?
plum will look gud
Re: Which colour should my dupatta be?
Thanks girls!
So most of you say plum...i thought maybe it would be too much of plum? Maybe i can have green stones in my jewelry and green makeup to complete the look? :)
Re: Which colour should my dupatta be?
Where do you live? If you're able to visit the tailor, get their opinion on what color would compliment your outfit. They may provide suggestions you never thought of before and since they have easy access to cloth...they can actually put various colors against your clothes so you get a better idea as well as suggest embroidery ideas. Or email picture and get suggestions. That's another way to go about this.
