So i have a free one year complimentry gym membership. I can attend any class that i want to and also use the sauna room, steam room.
I also work 2 full days and 2 half days. Half days are from 2pm to 5.30pm.
I want to attend 3 classes a week. I want to tone up my thighs, bottom and my stomach. I know thats the usual prob with any woman but i want to know which classes would be best for me. I want to start from the beginning of 12th of May inshallah as i will be on holiday before than.
Below is the list of classes they are offering - i am only going to list the ones that i can attend before work - for people who are in tune with their fitness regime and know their stuff, i would love to hear your input.
Ab attack - or spinning
Spinning - on mondays
Yoga - on sunday
Pilates - twice a week or i can do spinning
Circuit - only on fridays or i can do spinning
I am thinking spinning as that will tone up my legs and thighs and its going to be 3 times a week and if i feel like it, i might attend pilates on sunday evenings.
What do you guys think? Oh and could some one please tell me what does Ab attack and Circuit entails?
Since your aim seems to be to lose some weight, and to tone, the first thing that I would concentrate on is losing some weight and then toning becomes a lot easier.
So I would recommend going with spinning 3 times a week, initially and then after a few weeks cutting down on spinning and taking up any other activity that you want in addition to spinning.
Hey Sunset_Eyes,
I just replied to you as well... you know I agree with the poster about the body pump classes.I love them even more than the spinning classes. Both of them work well as a combo, your getting your cardio , and also getting toned in the body pump classes.
One thing I know for sure is that I wouldn't push myself as hard if I'm working out alone. Also , it depends on the instructors as well. Some might be able to motivate you much more than others.
you get as much out of it , as you put in.Like they say , the more you put into it the better the result. for example , you could pick up realllly light weights , or turn down the resistance on the bike, you might get through the classes , but you wont see any results. So you need to know that youre pushing yourself.
If you have a membership already , I would suggest you try out all the classes they're offering before you decide which ones to stick with.
Btw I also love pilates and yoga, so try them out as well if you can.
i have been doing it for a month...n yes i hve lost weight /inches off the bum and legs and hips( after the first session my muscles were soo sore that i couldnt walk for 2 days ) it will take about three or four sessions...but they do say if u use the correct weights.... u will burn off about 600 cal per hr
