Don't mix Pindi and Islamabad. Yes, they are called twin cities, but majority of the people living there have moved down from some other part of Pakistan, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Multan, Gujranwala, u name it and you find it there.
Pindi (Rawalpindi) probably had more population of Pothoharies the local inhabitants from the nearby areas like Abbotabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Muree etc. etc. They are considered the local Pindi-waal people but no they are not paindoos, just different punjabi culture.
Islamabad is more of a mix of people from everywhere. In early 60s majority were urdu speaking from Karachi since the capital of Pakistan was shifted from Karachi to Islamabad (1961 or 1962), so majority government jobs were held by Karachiites. But later on migration from other parts of the country poured into Islamabad and now it is a true mix of all Pakistanis. If you visit Islamabad, you won't call it paindoo or you wud have to give a new meaning to this word. For Islamabadis are more modern in every sense, educational institutes, fashion, leaving silly traditions and practices behind and mixing with their punjabi, urdu, pashtoon, sindhis and all bretheran. But it doesn't mean, punjabis are not following their punjabi culture or pashtoons are forgetting their pushto. As I said, it's a true, and rich mix. :)
Not agreed. This is in fact otherwise. The literacy rate in Islamabad and Rawalpindi is the highest in Pakistan. People are broad minded and decent. You need to get out often
