I want to donate a part of my zakat to a charity organization towards a well/hand pump. Have heard good and bad stories about a few so not sure which one to donate too. Can anyone recommend an organization that has a good repute and has done actual work on the ground especially towards the clean water initiative?
I know Islamic relief has this water initiative. May be Helping hands does it too. But i'm not sure about which geographical locations they focus on. I think Islamic relief does it only for Africa.
I'll be interested to know your findings too so please share if you find anything
Meanwhile, one of the ways to help with this is to NOT WASTE RESOURCES, INCLUDING WATER. If each of us did this, the water shortage issue can be successfully addressed. Along with climate change.
So it's not just about money. It's about our daily behavior. And increasing our sphere of influence.
